Job Title: Structural Engineer JHB

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineer to join our team at Lerena Recruitment Services in the Northern suburbs of Johannesburg.

About the Role:

This is a challenging opportunity for a professional Structural Engineer with experience in structural design, registered with ECSA (PR Eng.), to take on a leadership role in our consulting environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Undertake technical and feasibility studies, including site investigations, to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Collaborate with project teams to deliver high-quality results and meet client expectations.
  • Supervise construction projects, ensuring they are completed to the required standards.
  • Manage budgets and project resources effectively, ensuring maximum efficiency.
  • Mentor junior engineers and technicians to develop their skills and knowledge.
  • Ensure all documentation issued conforms to the ISO 9001 – Quality standards.
  • Develop and maintain excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively communicate with clients and colleagues.
  • Utilize relevant computer software to design and analyze structures, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Consult with clients and other consultants to understand their needs and deliver tailored solutions.
Requirements:
  • Professional Structural Engineer (B.Eng. or BSc) with experience in structural design, registered with ECSA (PR Eng.).
  • 7 years' + experience as a Structural Engineer within a consulting environment, focusing on Industrial, Commercial, and mining projects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work well within a project team.
  • Computer literate, with proficiency in typical office software applications.
  • Driver's license and own transport essential.
