Cloud Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Engineer to join our team at Edge Executives. As a Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cloud-based infrastructure to support our business applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and Implementation: Develop and implement scalable, reliable, and secure cloud infrastructure using modern technologies and best practices.
  • Cloud Infrastructure Management: Manage and optimize cloud environments (AWS, GCP), ensuring high availability, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
  • Infrastructure as Code: Implement infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform, Ansible, and CloudFormation to automate the provisioning and management of resources.
  • CI/CD Pipelines: Design and maintain continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to automate the build, test, and deployment processes.
  • Monitoring and Logging: Set up and maintain monitoring and logging systems (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack) to ensure the health and performance of the platform.
  • Security: Implement security best practices to protect infrastructure and applications, including identity and access management, encryption, and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Patch Management: Apply software updates to Linux, Windows, and databases.
  • Network Management: Maintain, secure, and enhance the Edge Executives office network according to industry best practices.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with development, operations, and security teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of applications.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve infrastructure-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for infrastructure, processes, and procedures.
  • Emerging Technologies: Research and implement emerging technologies to enhance the platform.
Requirements:
  • 1-3 years of systems engineering/administration experience.
  • 1-3 years of experience with virtualization platforms.
  • 1-3 years of experience coordinating activities of technology product and service vendors and leading technical infrastructure design activities.
  • 1-3 years of experience in one or more hyperscalers such as GCP or AWS.
  • Foundational knowledge in Python, Golang, or NodeJS is an advantage.
  • Proficient in scripting and Linux and Windows system administration.
Qualifications:
  • Degree or equivalent with 1 to 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Certifications in one or more hyperscalers such as Google, AWS, or Azure are beneficial.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
