Job Title: IT Manager

Primeserv Recruitment is seeking an experienced IT Manager to join our team. As an IT Manager, you will be responsible for designing and managing the procedures for the use of IT resources, ensuring IT resources/assets are tracked and monitored.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Make strategic IT decisions that benefit the performance and work output of the company and end-users.
  • Analyse departmental needs, identify vulnerabilities, and boost productivity, efficiency, and accuracy to inform business decisions.
  • Ensure technical support to all employees is applied in a timely manner, and establish a structured tracking system to monitor and track outstanding support issues.
  • Manage the offering, planning, and execution of training on the use of systems and networks, and ensure user manuals are freely accessible to employees.
  • Manage the installation and configuration of hardware equipment and software programs, ensuring the hardware and software are compatible with current systems.
  • Oversee, track, and measure system and network performance, and provide regular reports to various stakeholders.
  • Manage the development, design, and implementation of IT policies, standards, and procedures, ensuring IT policies are up to date.
  • Design, develop, plan, implement, and install 5G IT requirements in conjunction with the technical and operations department.
  • Evaluate processes and methods used in ICT systems.
  • Manage and maintain the company's technological equipment, ensuring devices can maintain the connection and speed to operate optimally.
  • Ensure that company devices interconnect with file servers and email servers systems seamlessly.
  • Install, upgrade, and manage software and hardware on company devices, ensuring IT team manages employees' access to their emails on their cell phones where applicable.
  • Manage all software licensing, create instructions for program installation sequences, and keep an inventory of all company electronic assets.
  • Develop and execute disaster planning and maintain data backups, ensuring backups and restoration of lost data are conducted by the IT team.
  • Implement and manage the access control and clock-in system, working with HR to ensure the system is fully functional as per company requirements.
  • Maintain the company website and implement any changes, ensuring PR and Legal reviews any content before posting on the website.
  • Maintain and oversee the Company Information and Security Management sites and software, e.g., Sharepoint, firewalls, etc.
  • Manage various projects as approved by management, ensuring effective management of the onsite CCTV, turnstiles, access control, and subsequent software setup, installation, maintenance, and monitoring.
  • Manage the security and privacy of networks and computer systems in accordance with the company policies and per the POPI act.
  • Manage the organisation and scheduling of upgrades and maintenance, ensuring minimal interruption to users' access and performance.
  • Analyse processes, technologies, and vendors continually to find areas for improvement.
  • Manage the IT budget, ensuring all payments and invoices are completed on time and within budget restraints.
  • Perform routine system audits, run routine system operation reports, and share them with management.
  • Organise and establish deadlines for major IT projects, such as installations, updates, migrations, upgrades, outages, and implementation.
  • Stay up to date with new technology and report this information to the executive team each quarter.
  • Work closely with other department managers to assess the growth needs and maintenance of the company's systems.
  • Develop & Lead the Team in all Aspects of People Management:
  • Ensure skills sets & competencies to perform tasks in respect of equity practices & on the job training.
  • Monitor skills requirements and capabilities of direct and indirect subordinates, recommend training, development, recruitment, or redeployment as required.
  • Conduct career discussions and implement actions with all identified talent.
  • Manage and supervise the team with respect and integrity and ensure competency.
  • Ensure discipline is maintained (absenteeism, lateness, overtime, misconduct, etc.).
  • Optimize use of available resources within the team through prudent allocation and management of shared resources.
  • Develop teamwork by providing firm, fair, and focused leadership, management, and supervision.
  • Give guidance to the team so that they understand their statutory and business functions & responsibilities.
  • Communicate planned business targets to the team and collect the team's input to improve the business.
  • Manage performance against set targets and competencies, coach, and counsel people to ensure improved performance levels.
  • Ensure IDPs are linked to performance results and implemented as per plan.
  • Hold people to account to ensure discipline of all COPs, standards, and legalities and take corrective action as required.
