Sorting Technician

McCain Foods is seeking a skilled Sorting Technician to join our team in Delmas, South Africa. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the peak performance of our sorting equipment to deliver high-quality products at a low cost.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver quality products by ensuring the optimal performance of sorting equipment.
• Monitor equipment availability and implement measures to minimize downtime.
• Manage costs effectively by implementing continuous improvement and maximizing localisation of spares.
• Assist in maintaining a safe working environment by identifying and addressing safety deviations.
• Participate in regular safety audits and implement corrective actions.

Requirements:

• Matric/Grade 12
• N3
• Millwright with Trade Certificate
• Minimum 5 years relevant experience in a food processing plant
• Good working relationship with maintenance and operation teams
• Ability to provide technical support and assess technical programs used in operating equipment
