About the Position

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified Pharmacist Assistant to join our team at Clicks Pharmacy. You will be responsible for providing customer service and dispensing support to the pharmacy, in line with scope of practice, under the supervision of the Pharmacist.

Your Key Responsibilities

  1. To assess, capture, prepare and pack prescriptions in line with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), Good Pharmacy Practice (GPP) principles and customer service standards.
  2. To advise customers on the appropriate use of medicine and promote cost-effective options to patients.
  3. To provide professional service and accurate information to customers, in line with scope of practice.
  4. To provide professional and accurate information on generics / alternate medication.
  5. To order medicine and scheduled substances up to Schedule 6, according to an instruction of the pharmacist on duty.
  6. To maintain stock levels and check expiry dates according to SOP's.
  7. To adhere to ethical, legislative and regulatory requirements of the SAPC.

Requirements

  1. Further Education and Training Certificate Pharmacist Assistance (Community)
  2. Registration with SAPC
  3. 1 year experience as a Pharmacist Assistant
  4. Competent in dispensing patient prescriptions within scope of practice
  5. Experience in a retail pharmacy (desirable)
