About the Role

As a Strategic Reputation Director, you will be responsible for leading our Corporate Reputation account teams, overseeing corporate reputation programmes, developing multi-market campaigns, and thought leadership. You will counsel clients confidently and maturely on communications marketing, including PR, digital, social, and content creation. You will also oversee client programmes, drive creative campaigns, and take responsibility for a portfolio of accounts, managing teams and developing junior team members.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead Corporate Reputation account teams, overseeing corporate reputation programmes and developing multi-market campaigns and thought leadership.
  • Counsel clients confidently and maturely on communications marketing, including PR, digital, social, and content creation.
  • Oversee client programmes and drive creative campaigns.
  • Drive sustainability-focused campaigns for multi-national organisations and act as a subject matter expert in this space.
  • Write PR proposals and other strategic communications materials to grow existing accounts.
  • Taking responsibility for a portfolio of accounts and managing teams, developing junior team members, and line management responsibilities.
  • Direct media engagement strategy for clients and coach teams to activate and deliver coverage, leading from the front.
  • Full responsibility for overall financial management – forecasting, hours allocation for team members, project & plan budgeting, managing servicing levels.
The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for an experienced professional with a background in corporate PR/reputation management, preferably with South Africa and Africa experience. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of how Corporate Reputation intersects with other communications disciplines, including Financial communications. They should also have experience in handling complex client issues and providing senior clients with clear, confident, and well-informed strategic counsel under pressure.

The successful candidate will have strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills, with an ability to deliver a project against budget and deliver results. They should also have a track record of handling complex stakeholders with the ability to influence decisions. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential, as is a strong knowledge of international business media landscape and digital platforms with a network of contacts. Experience of multi-market coordination, working within integrated teams and across practices is also desirable.

Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on experience.
