Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical consultation in water management fields such as road drainage design, stormwater drainage systems, culvert design, flood line determination, erosion protection, and water sensitive urban design.
  • Develop and implement discipline specific technical practices, specifications, and procedures.
  • You may be responsible for the development of others through providing guidance, training, and feedback.
  • You will be expected to work independently on small and large sized projects and be a key member of larger multidisciplinary project teams.
  • You will engage with clients and subconsultants during the planning and execution of projects, including meetings and presentations.
  • Provide specialist technical advice to clients.
Requirements
  • B.Eng, B Sc Eng or B.Tech degree required, or equivalent combination of education and experience in water management design.
  • Professional registration or working towards professional registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa will be advantageous.
  • Post-graduate qualification in Water Management would be advantageous.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in water management design is a requirement.
  • Experience in managing large water management designs in multidisciplinary projects is required.
  • Experience in hydrological studies, stormwater master and management plans and hydraulic design of water management structures/systems is required.
  • Able to communicate effectively both verbally and written.
  • Good command of Microsoft Office package.
  • Good presentation skills, ability to coach and motivate others.
  • Strong interpersonal skills supporting collaborative working with colleagues.
