Currently, we are seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Mechanic Technician to be part of our Allied Logistics Engineering Capabilities Sustainment (ALECS) team. The chosen candidate will play a key role in delivering sustainment support services (operational engineering and logistics support) on a global scale for approximately 25,000 vehicles, including advanced military vehicles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize proven maintenance and repair skills in industrial manufacturing, commercial maintenance, or military operations.
- Conduct repairs, rebuilds, or overhauls of major components in internal combustion vehicles, including trucks and tractors.
- Replace worn or damaged parts such as piston rings and bearings; perform valve grinding and adjustments; rebuild carburetors; overhaul transmissions; and repair fuel injection, lighting, and ignition systems.
- Execute additional related tasks as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Candidates must be U.S. Citizens.
- A minimum of 6 years of relevant automotive maintenance experience.
- Mechanical experience should encompass light or heavy-duty trucks, tactical vehicles, aviation ground support systems, generators, or any diesel or gasoline-powered equipment.
- Demonstrated maintenance experience with a strong technical background in industrial manufacturing or military operations.
- Familiarity with maintenance support including operations, troubleshooting, engineering, design, installation, analysis, and repair of U.S. systems.
- Proficient in using various hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and power tools.
- Ability to apply industry-standard troubleshooting procedures to identify faulty components.
- Must meet government deployment physical requirements, if necessary.
- Must successfully pass a Pre-Employment Drug Screening.
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Valid driver's license or ability to obtain one before starting employment.
Desired Qualifications:
- Previous training or maintenance experience with military vehicle systems is preferred.
- Knowledge of MRAP/RCV systems is advantageous.
- Willingness to travel to various locations, including potentially hostile areas.
- Flexibility to deploy to diverse regions, including Southwest Asia and South-Central Asia.
- Some deployments may involve high-risk environments, which may offer additional incentives.
Security Clearance Requirements:
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a ( DoD) Public Trust clearance.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to balance, bend, carry, crouch, stretch, and kneel.
- Capability to push, pull, and reach.
- Must be able to work in high-noise environments.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and handle small components.
- Proficient in using computers and typing on a keyboard.
