Job Description:

Africa Solar Industry Association is seeking an experienced Renewable Energy Systems Specialist to join our team in South Africa. As a key member of our Engineering & Construction department, you will be responsible for maintaining commercial and industrial (C&I) and residential solar projects across the country.

About the Role:

We are looking for a highly skilled professional with 3-5 years of experience in solar energy systems design, installation, and maintenance. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

* Conduct site surveys and assessments to identify potential project sites and determine feasibility
* Develop detailed project plans, including timelines and milestones, to ensure successful project execution
* Coordinate with project stakeholders and team members to ensure alignment on project goals and objectives
* Design and document solar PV and battery storage systems, ensuring compliance with local regulations and industry standards
* Procure equipment and materials, select installers and subcontractors, and coordinate logistics to ensure timely delivery of materials to the site
* Supervise the installation of solar PV and battery storage systems to ensure adherence to design specifications and quality standards
* Conduct regular inspections to ensure the quality and integrity of the installation
* Implement quality assurance and quality control measures throughout the project lifecycle

Requirements:

* 3-5 years of experience in solar energy systems design, installation, and maintenance
* Technical education related to engineering or relevant fields
* Practical experience in solar system design and modeling
* Proven ability to defend design solutions during expert examinations
* Knowledge of the regulatory framework governing solar projects
* Experience in interacting with energy supply organizations
* Proficiency in AutoCAD and Excel
* Familiarity with tools such as PVSyst and PVGIS
* Strong team-working skills, initiative, and result orientation
* Fluency in English
