Job Description:
The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, splicing, and maintaining fiber optic cables in residential and commercial settings. Key responsibilities include:
  • Performing fiber optic splicing, termination, and testing for FTTH installations.
  • Reading and interpreting fiber optic network schematics and blueprints.
  • Utilizing fusion splicing and mechanical splicing techniques to join optical fibers.
  • Conducting fiber optic testing using OTDR, power meters, and other testing equipment.
  • Installing and maintaining fiber optic cables, enclosures, and related equipment.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving connectivity issues and system malfunctions.
  • Collaborating with team members to plan and execute installation projects.
  • Maintaining accurate records of splicing work, inventory, and project documentation.

Requirements:
The ideal candidate should have proven experience in FTTH splicing and fiber optic installation. Proficiency in using fusion splicing machines, OTDR, and other fiber optic testing tools is essential. Strong understanding of fiber optic network components and systems is also required. Additionally, excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail are necessary for this role. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are also mandatory.

Salary and Benefits:
The successful candidate can expect a salary range of R8,000 - R15,000 per month, depending on experience. The company offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical aid, retirement funding, and annual leave.
