About the Role

PBT Group is currently seeking a highly skilled AWS Data Architect to join our team. As a key member of our data engineering team, you will play a crucial role in designing and implementing scalable data pipelines and architectures that meet the needs of our business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Implement Data Architectures: Develop and implement data architectures that meet the needs of our business, utilizing AWS services such as S3, EC2, and EMR.
  • Lead Data Engineering Projects: Lead data engineering projects from conception to delivery, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, data analysts, and business stakeholders, to ensure that data architectures meet the needs of the business.
  • Stay Up-to-Date with Industry Trends: Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies, and apply this knowledge to improve our data architectures and engineering practices.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 Years of Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in data engineering, with a strong focus on AWS services.
  • Leadership Experience: Demonstrated leadership experience, managing teams of engineers and leading data engineering projects.
  • Big Data Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in big data, with a strong focus on Hadoop and Spark.
  • ETL Experience: At least 5 years of experience with Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes.
  • AWS Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience with AWS (Amazon Web Services).
  • Agile Methodologies: Demonstrated experience with agile or other rapid application development methodologies.
  • Object-Oriented Design: 5 years of proven expertise in object-oriented design, coding, testing patterns, and working with commercial or open-source software platforms and large-scale data infrastructures.
  • Programming Languages: Proficiency in creating data feeds from on-premise to AWS Cloud, and support experience for data feeds in production on a break-fix basis.
  • Data Modeling: A minimum of 4 years of experience in creating data marts using Talend or similar ETL development tools, and expertise in data modeling and an understanding of different data structures and their suitability for specific use cases.
Additional Requirements
  • Design Highly Scalable Distributed Systems: The ability to design highly scalable distributed systems using various open-source tools.
  • Big Data Tools: Proficiency in both batch and streaming Big Data tools.
  • Talend Experience: Experience with Talend for at least 1 year.
  • AWS Services: Familiarity with AWS services such as EMR, EC2, and S3 for at least 1 year.
  • Python Experience: Proficiency in Python for at least 1 year.
  • PySpark Experience: Familiarity with PySpark or Spark (desirable for at least 1 year).
  • Business Intelligence Data Modeling: Experience in Business Intelligence data modeling for 3 years.
  • SQL Experience: Proficiency in SQL for 3 years.
Qualifications/Certifications
  • Bachelor's Degree: A Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or equivalent work experience for a minimum of 4 years.
  • AWS Certification: AWS Certification, at least at the associate level.
