The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our mechanical engineering team and ensuring the smooth execution of projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Formulate and implement production programs, control, and planning strategies to achieve business objectives.
  • Develop and manage budgets to ensure cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Schedule and coordinate work throughout the plant and site to optimize productivity and minimize downtime.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and resources to meet deadlines.
  • Liaise with contract managers and clients to ensure timely updates and progress reports.
  • Order and manage raw materials and components for plant equipment and labor utilization.
  • Establish and maintain delivery schedules to meet customer expectations.
  • Lead and manage the mechanical engineering team, providing guidance and support to ensure their success.
  • Ensure adherence to Health and Safety requirements and ISO standards.
  • Comply with all instructions and directives from the Mechanical Contracts Manager.

Requirements:

  • Matric or National Technical Certificate.
  • Fitter or Boilermaker Trade Tested.
  • Automotive industry experience is essential.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of Supervisory and Management experience.
  • Knowledge of boiler making, pipefitting, and welding experience is required.
  • Valid Drivers License Code 08.
  • Ability to travel and work away from home.
  • Knowledge of quality control plans.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD designs.
  • Knowledge of the OHSA Act.
