About the Role:

Lesaka Technologies is seeking a skilled Senior Software Quality Assurance Professional to join our team in Century City, Cape Town. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the development and release of high-quality software products.

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced QA professional with a strong background in testing front-ends and APIs, as well as test automation using tools such as Selenium and Cucumber. You will be responsible for creating and maintaining automated test suites, executing manual tests, and providing reports on test runs and progress.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Test planning, requirements analysis, and test automation
  • Creating and configuring automated test environments, including functional, integration, system, regression, and smoke tests
  • Automating legacy manual test packs to reduce execution time and improve coverage
  • Manual testing and analysis where necessary prior to automation phase
  • Executing test plans (manual, automated, and regression) and creating test reports
  • Defect management back into the SDLC process
  • Reviewing and contributing to product design documentation to ensure requirements are correct, unambiguous, and verifiable
  • Assisting with defining Definition of Ready (DOR) and Definition of Done (DOD) in your development squad
  • Engaging with product development to evaluate system interfaces, operational requirements, and performance requirements of the overall system
  • Providing reports and dashboards on test runs and progress, and overall software quality for your squad

Requirements:

To be considered for this position, you must meet the following requirements:

  • ISTQB/ISEB Tertiary qualification in engineering, software or IT systems, or proven equivalent technical experience
  • At least 3 years experience working in Agile SDLC and CI/CD organizations in a quality engineering capacity
  • At least 2 years of experience in testing front-ends as well as APIs
  • At least 2 years of test automation experience: Selenium, Jasmine, POM, Cucumber, Robot or related packages

Technical Competencies:

  • Knowledge of Python stack would be very advantageous but not compulsory
  • Familiarity with unit testing and experience using unit test frameworks (such as Pytest, Robot, jtest, unittest, DocTest or similar)
  • Experience working with automation testing frameworks (such as Selenium, Appium, Robot)
  • Experience in testing enterprise-level integrated applications (distributed systems) including web front-ends, mobile front-ends, internal and external APIs and databases
  • Experience with a commercially available test management tool such as Practitest or X-Ray
  • Working experience of scripting and configuration tools
  • Solid understanding of modern Agile software development and delivery
  • Ability to troubleshoot systems and perform complex tests
  • Advanced query-level experience in SQL or mySQL
