About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Collections Specialist to join our team at Status Asset Management. As a Collections Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring outstanding payments are collected on behalf of the company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect payments directly from clients and negotiate with them to reach a mutually beneficial outcome.
  • Contact external debt collectors to ensure accounts are fully paid.
  • Manage customer queries and provide excellent customer service.
  • Manage credit bureau queries and ensure accurate and timely responses.
  • Manage clients under debt counselling or administration orders.
  • Accurately submit insurance claims and support the team with receipting and allocation of payments.
  • Investigate and approve refunds, and investigate and escalate fraudulent matters.
Requirements
  • Matric certificate.
  • A certificate in business administration or a similar field is advantageous.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a collections call centre or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of collections processes and related legislation (NCA).
  • Experience in dealing with external debt collectors.
  • Understanding of debt counselling processes.
