About Ad Talent

We are a global strategic branding, marketing, and communications agency. Our finance team is looking for a skilled and motivated Accounts Payable Controller to join us in Johannesburg.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the entire payment process from PO to payment with attention to detail and high accuracy.
  • Process supplier invoices and prepare payment runs for approval using strong analytical skills.
  • Manage supplier statement reconciliations and handle supplier inquiries with excellent communication skills.
Procurement Support
  • Receive and process PO requests from Brand Consultants with a proactive approach to work.
  • Create and issue purchase orders using advanced skills in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel.
  • Monitor supplier spending against budgets with strong technology acumen and ability to quickly adapt to new systems.
  • Assist in supplier contract management with innovative thinking and passion for continuous improvement.
Fixed Asset Management
  • Maintain and update fixed asset register with self-starter attitude and adaptable nature.
  • Calculate and record monthly depreciation with exceptional organisational and time management skills.
  • Reconcile fixed asset register to general ledger with customer-focused approach and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Coordinate physical asset verification process with ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Prepare fixed asset reports for management and auditors with strong proficiency in accounting software.
  • Assist in fixed asset budget preparation with ability to quickly adapt to new systems.
Client Budget Management
  • Reconcile third-party spend for client production budgets with strong analytical skills.
  • Create and maintain client-facing reports on budget spend with excellent communication skills.
Financial Data Management
  • Enter and maintain financial data in accounting systems with self-starter attitude and adaptable nature.
  • Maintain vendor master data with strong technology acumen and ability to quickly adapt to new systems.
  • Assist in document management and filing with customer-focused approach and excellent interpersonal skills.
Compliance Support
  • Collect and organise vendor documentation for B-BBEE reporting with proactive approach to work.
  • Assist in preparing schedules for audit and tax purposes with strong analytical skills.
Process Improvement
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement within the finance function with innovative thinking and passion for continuous improvement.
  • Propose and implement new technologies or systems to enhance efficiency with self-starter attitude and adaptable nature.
  • Continuously optimise existing processes and workflows with exceptional organisational and time management skills.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Manage corporate credit card reconciliations with strong proficiency in accounting software.
  • Assist in physical asset verification and documentation with ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Support daily cash reporting and cash flow forecasting with strong analytical skills.
  • Perform ad-hoc financial tasks as required with proactive approach to work.
About You
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field with minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounts payable and general accounting processes.
  • Strong proficiency in accounting software and advanced skills in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy with customer-focused approach and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional organisational and time management skills with self-starter attitude and adaptable nature.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with ability to quickly adapt to new systems.
