The role of a Financial Manager at Sanlam Limited involves providing strategic financial leadership and support to the organisation. Key Responsibilities
  • Be a financial business partner to the countries under the portfolio.
  • Drive process change, automation and new ways of working.
  • Process foreign subsidiary financial results in HFM.
  • Analyse multiple foreign subsidiary management accounts and financial statements.
  • Assist with cluster financial consolidation.
  • Assist with implementation of new systems and processes in businesses.
  • Prepare Sanlam monthly financial reports and commentary including variance analysis of foreign subsidiary management accounts.
  • Provide end-to-end financial management support to businesses outside of South Africa.
  • Interact regularly with Exco representatives, in-country CFOs and CEOs.
  • Assist with compilation of holding company financial statements in accordance with IFRS 4 and IFRS 17 standards.
  • Budget and forecast 5-year plans for country budgets and Group Costs via SAP S/4 Hana.
  • Process journals and payments in accordance with the approval framework.
  • Ensure effective controls and procedures are in place, and focus on process improvements.
  • Interact with external auditors during interim and final audits.

Requirements
  • Qualified CA(SA) certification.
  • 0-4 years post qualification experience.
  • Life insurance experience.
