Job Description

This is a challenging opportunity for a skilled engineer to design, develop, install, and commission automation systems within the food and beverage packaging environment. The ideal candidate will have experience with Siemens Simatic Software, TIA, and VSD setup, as well as electrical schematic and circuit design using E-Plan and AutoCAD.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage PLC programs using Siemens Simatic Software and TIA (Siemens S7-300/1500 PLCs); Allen Bradley knowledge is advantageous.
  • Design and develop electrical schematics for control panels, ideally on E-Plan, with flexibility in other platforms.
  • Program HMI interfaces on WinCC and TIA; experience with other HMI platforms is beneficial.
  • Set up VSDs and manage communication protocols (Profinet, Profibus, Ethernet, ASI, Canbus, Device Net).
  • PLC programming (Siemens/Mitsubishi/Allen Bradley) and software development in accordance with the client's specifications.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in PLC program development beyond commissioning and fault finding.
  • Fully competent in Siemens Simatic Software, TIA, and VSD setup.
  • Educated in BEng Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
Estimated Salary

R450,000 - R550,000 per annum based on experience and qualifications.
