Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Clamping Technician to join our team at Express Employment Professionals. As a Clamping Technician, you will be responsible for performing clamping and de-clamping duties for clients at numerous depots daily.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clamping and Unclamping Containers: Receive clamping and unclamping instructions from the clamping supervisor, carry out the instructions effectively and according to standard operating procedures, ensure that clamping units are tested and updated, and attach the correct units according to pre-advice reports.
  • Reporting: Keep management informed and updated on all relevant issues and incidents, ensure that all relevant data pertaining to the clamping and unclamping of units are sent to the supervisor/Control Room promptly, and update the supervisor and management on all relevant changes immediately.
  • Company Vehicles and Equipment: Use company vehicles and other company equipment responsibly, ensure that all company vehicles and other company equipment are maintained and kept in proper working order, and report any problems pertaining to the equipment immediately to the clamping supervisor.
  • General: Immediately answer all telephone calls in a polite, friendly, and professional manner, provide the correct and relevant information to callers, follow up and provide feedback to management and clients on an ongoing basis, and adhere to all health and safety regulations.
Requirements
  • Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent (NQF level 4)
  • Valid Code 8 driver's license with minimum two years driving experience
  • PSiRA (Grade C)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in report writing
  • Two (2) years' proven working experience in a safety / security / high value cargo environment
  • Knowledge and experience in tracking units
  • Computer literacy
  • IT / technical training / background
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to work at various depots daily and will be expected to adhere to all health and safety regulations.
