**The Ideal Candidate:**
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Mechanical Deck Designer to join our team at Southern Wind Shipyard. The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of yacht design principles and practices, as well as excellent technical skills in 3D modeling and 2D drafting.
The ideal candidate will be able to communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels, and will have a strong ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing and maintaining accurate and detailed 3D models of yacht designs.
- Creating 2D production drawings and CNC files from 3D models.
- Collaborating with designers and engineers to ensure design integrity and consistency.
- Participating in design reviews and approvals to ensure that designs meet company standards and regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
- BSc Mechanical Designer or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 2+ years' experience working in yacht design or a related field.
- Strong experience in 3D modeling using SolidWorks and 2D drafting using Draftsight.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
