Metrology Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Metrology Specialist to join our Quality Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating measuring programs, providing effective feedback, and preparing documentation according to customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement measuring programs for new and existing wheels
• Collaborate with relevant departments to provide feedback on dimensional deviations and defects
• Prepare APQP/PPAP/ISIR documentation in accordance with customer requirements
• Participate in problem-solving activities, FMEA/Control Plan Meetings, and APQP
• Conduct routine testing and product audits
• Lead Gauging designs, approval, and work instruction creation
• Manage calibration processes, including physical verification and documentation
• Draft and follow MSA Plans for required R&R studies
• Conduct capability studies and ad-hoc measurements for investigations

Qualifications:

• A tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Quality
• Qualified Trade in Toolmaking or Mechanical
• Certificate in CMM Measuring/3D Scanning
• Quality-specific training in VDA6.3, IATF16949, Core Tools, and CSR's

Work Experience:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a Metrology Lab in a factory environment
• Understanding and utilization of PC-DMIS CMM Software
• Thorough knowledge of plant processes and SA Quality Standards
• Experience with SPC/MSA/APQP/8D concepts

Other Requirements:

• Understanding of CMM Measuring equipment
• Thorough knowledge of sampling processes
• Ability to interpret technical drawings
• Ability to work under pressure, lead a team, and be a team player
• Proactive, good time management skills, honesty, integrity, and good communication skills
• Excellent attendance and disciplinary records
• Computer literacy in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, AutoCAD, MiniTab, and 3D Scanning
• A valid driver's license and own transport
