About the Role

Abantu Staffing Solutions is seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer to join our team as a Process Improvement Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for driving excellence in facility layout and Lean manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lean Implementation: Develop and implement Lean principles in all factories, including 5S, Standard Work, Quick Changeover, Kanban, Constraints Management, TPM, Visual Management, VSM, and Roll Throughput Yield.
  • OEE Optimization: Drive specific action items to improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and Overall Production Rate (OPR). Develop and implement headcount management tools to accurately predict labor needs and overtime requirements.
  • Continuous Improvement: Lead and facilitate continuous improvement efforts, directing relevant staff and training them to meet required KPIs. Research new equipment technology and promote innovation.
  • Project Management: Track and facilitate timely completion of project deliverables, promote optimum facility layout, and create FMEA templates to increase comprehensiveness and reduce compilation time.
  • Quality Assurance: Create Control Plan templates to increase comprehensiveness of Control Plans and reduce new project control plan compilation time. Actively participate in the reduction of Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ).
Requirements
  • National Diploma in Industrial Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role
  • Able to read CAD drawings
  • QA experience is advantageous
