About the Role

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting regular patrols of the security premises, monitoring CCTV cameras and alarm systems, and responding promptly to security incidents and alarms. They will also be required to implement and enforce loss prevention measures, provide assistance and guidance to customers and employees, and act swiftly and decisively during emergencies.

Key ResponsibilitiesSecurity Monitoring and Surveillance
  • Conduct regular patrols of the security premises to monitor for suspicious activities, theft, or vandalism.
  • Utilize security equipment such as CCTV cameras and alarm systems to maintain a secure environment.
  • Respond promptly to security incidents and alarms, taking appropriate action as per company protocols.
Loss Prevention
  • Implement and enforce loss prevention measures to minimize shrinkage and theft within the store.
  • Perform bag checks and monitor customer exits to deter theft and ensure adherence to store policies.
Customer and Staff Assistance
  • Provide assistance and guidance to customers and employees regarding security-related concerns or inquiries.
  • Maintain a professional and approachable demeanor while interacting with customers and staff.
Emergency Response
  • Act swiftly and decisively during emergencies such as medical incidents, fires, or security breaches.
  • Coordinate with emergency services and management to ensure appropriate responses and resolution.
Requirements
  • 2 years of previous retail security guarding experience
  • PSIRA Grade C
  • Matric certificate is preferred, but not essential
  • Must be able to effectively communicate and write in English
  • Must reside in the area of Strand
  • Must be in a physical healthy condition (no underlying medical conditions)
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary of R180,000 per annum, plus benefits including comprehensive medical aid and retirement savings.
