About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join Old Mutual as a Senior Communications Manager, leading the internal communications function. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive internal communications strategy that supports the organization's business objectives.

Main Responsibilities:

Strategic Delivery:

  • Develop and implement an internal communications plan that drives engagement and aligns with the organization's business objectives.
  • Design and implement a communications framework that supports the organization's employment value proposition.
  • Develop and manage the corporate narrative for Old Mutual, ensuring consistent messaging across the organization.

Operational Delivery:

  • Deliver an integrated internal communications plan for Group Human Capital and other key teams, ensuring suitable content that promotes the OML brand is communicated across the Group.
  • Develop, implement, and guide a Communication Framework for Group Human Capital and other key stakeholders, enabling adherence to principles and protocols for Communications.
  • Manage the delivery of effective and efficient OML communications processes, including monitoring and measuring their effectiveness.
  • Manage reputational risk in the delivery of internal communications, ensuring all employees are informed and up to date.
  • Optimize and drive 'Ways of Work', including digital transformation, operational processes, tools, and systems.
  • Provide expertise in drafting and delivering briefing documents or content for executives.
  • Provide expertise in producing content and delivering internal campaigns, approving corporate narrative as per corporate standards.
  • Partner with senior leaders across the organization to ensure all internal communications is aligned with business objectives and supports the company culture.
  • Prepare content for executives for strategic internal engagements.
  • Manage crisis communications, ensuring all employees are informed and up to date.
  • Serve as the company's spokesperson on internal communications matters.
  • Manage people and culture per OML people practices and policies to create an enabling environment that supports high-performing and empowered teams.
  • Contribute to functional data resource planning.
  • Implement the functional resource plan and take corrective action (where required).
  • Manage functions KPIs and implement corrective action.

Finance and Governance:

  • Responsible for Finance and Risk management, including the management and clearing of audit findings.
  • Contributes to functional resource planning and integration.
  • Drives and manages accountabilities for certain legislative requirements specifically impacting the way we engage with our customers.
  • Manage Budget.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum 8 years' internal communications experience.
  • Experience defining and implementing communications strategies and plans, including driving communications standards and governance across a business.
  • Experience in managing teams.
  • Prior financial services experience is desirable.
