Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Supply Chain Planner to join our team at Assign Services (Pty) Ltd. As a key member of our end-to-end planning team, you will be responsible for driving the planning operations to respond to business needs, ensuring high customer service while optimizing inventory holdings.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain accurate monthly purchase forecasts for added value imported products, aligning with factory planners on availability and possible supply constraints.
  • Place firm intercompany orders for local warehouse replenishment and follow up with factory planners until order shipment.
  • Optimize container loading to minimize Freight-In costs.
  • Manage local inventory levels, balancing service level and optimal inventory holdings.
  • Identify and address Overstock and Slow-Moving items, collaborating with Sales and Marketing teams to propose depletion actions.
  • Ensure timely availability of new products, working closely with Marketing teams.
  • Participate in local Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process.
  • Contribute to weekly production planning process.
  • Ensure accurate integration of inbound stock into the system, analyzing discrepancies and following up for resolution.
Key Performance Indicators
  • Intercompany Orders accuracy, MAPE at different Lags.
  • Fill Rate Service Level, in value and volume.
  • Inventory Holdings, absolute value and as % of Net Sales.
  • Slow Movers and Overstock.
  • On Time New Products Launch.
  • Customs clearance On Time.
  • On time reception.
  • Inbound Accuracy.
Typical Day
  • Supply Planning: Place intercompany orders, follow up with factory planners, optimize orders, and share inbound information with the local team.
  • Inventory Management: Track inventory evolution, follow up on depletion actions, and plan inventory holdings.
  • Product-Data administration: Maintain up-to-date product data in planning systems.
Qualifications
  • University degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience.

  • Advanced level required on Excel Office.
  • Any ERP knowledge (JDE preferably).
