Mechanical Technician for Commercial Vehicle Repair

About the Role:

Profile Personnel is seeking an experienced Mechanical Technician to join their team in Kariega. As a Motor Mechanic, you will be responsible for servicing and repairing commercial vehicles, ensuring road safety through quality workmanship.

Possible Tasks within this Role

  • Servicing and repair of commercial vehicles to ensure they are safe and reliable on the road.
  • Performing electrical repairs on commercial models to maintain their performance and efficiency.
  • Ensuring that all work carried out in the workshop or by the appointed supplier meets the required quality standards.
  • Maintaining a clean working area and adhering to workshop regulations and safety protocols.
  • Training allocated apprentices to develop their skills and knowledge.
  • Assisting with preparing vehicles for press launches to showcase our company's products.
  • Fitting required accessories to our models to enhance their features and functionality.

Qualification Requirements:

  • A minimum N3 Mechanical/Electrical Engineering qualification.
  • A Trade Test Certificate in Motor Mechanics.
  • A valid Master Technician qualification at dealer level.

Experience Needed:

  • At least 3 years' post-qualification experience in an aftersales workshop environment.

Essentials:

  • Must be a High Voltage Technician with expertise in electrical systems.
  • Computer literacy with proficiency in MS Office.
  • Require ODIS and ElsaPro knowledge for efficient diagnostic processes.
  • Operational knowledge of diagnostic equipment such as VAS/VCI.
  • A sound up-to-date knowledge of commercial products and their applications.
  • Be capable of working independently to high safety and quality standards.
  • Have proven technical knowledge and its applications, demonstrating initiative and flexibility.
  • Be flexible when required to work overtime at short notice.
  • Hold an unendorsed driver's license (minimum old Code 08).
