Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Automation and Instrumentation Technician to join our team at Express Employment Professionals Midrand.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work on a rotating 3-shift system, including morning, afternoon, and night shifts.
  • Develop and implement PLC programming skills using Siemens S5, S7, and Festo systems.
  • Program and maintain robotics systems, including Kuka and ABB.
  • Design and implement AC/DC drives and servo applications, as well as drives experience.
  • Develop and maintain SCADA (Win CC, WinCC Flex) and HMI (Siemens, EBELT, BTxxx, Suetron) programming.
  • Work with SEW Motors, Profi Bus, and Profi Net systems.
  • Perform root cause analysis and troubleshoot electrical and PLC faults.
  • Read and understand electrical drawings, hydraulic, and pneumatic drawings.
  • Work on 3-phase 380V systems.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in automation and instrumentation.
  • OR Qualified Millwright or Electrician with applicable experience.
  • T3/S4 Diploma will be an advantage.
  • 2-3 years of experience as a technician in the electrical field, especially in automation (hydraulics, maintenance/robotics/projects).
