Job Description:

The role of a Picker - Industrial Automation is crucial in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the warehouse. As a key member of the Rubicon team, you will be responsible for locating and retrieving items from the warehouse inventory to fulfil customer orders accurately.

Key Responsibilities:
  • To locate and retrieve items from the warehouse inventory to fulfil customer orders efficiently.
  • To ensure that all stock is stored safely and correctly according to H&S practices.
  • To identify any damaged or missing stock and report it to the direct supervisor and stock controller.

Order Fulfilment:
  • To remove damaged stock from the shelf and involve stock control in taking the correct steps as per SOP.
  • To identify the shipment destination, type of stock order, and the intended destination of the stock.

Packaging:
  • To package items in a manner that reduces damages during storage and transport.
  • To label loose items according to SOP.

Documentation:
  • To note the quantity and quality of units being picked and sign off any discrepancies with the supervisor.
  • To hand over stock to the dispatch team who will co-sign the shipment paper and date/time it.

Housekeeping:
  • To keep floor and workstations neat, clean, and tidy at all times.
  • To allocate inventory found outside its agreed storage area to the correct location.
  • To maintain equipment cleanliness and condition conducive to the working area.
  • To identify workplace safety hazards and promote a Health and Safety culture.

Computer Literacy/Systems:

A basic proficiency in Windows and the MS Office suite is required.

Knowledge, Education, Skills & Experience:
  • Minimum Matric/NQF 4 level qualification.
  • Ability to read, write, count, and communicate verbally.
  • Warehousing experience of at least 2 years.
  • Administration related to the role for at least 2 years.
  • Ability to cope under high pressure and fast-moving environment.
  • Attention to details and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Maintaining and improving performance.
  • Quality Control Analysis.
