Job Overview

Nedbank is seeking a Chartered Accountant (CA) with expertise in product management and analytics to join as the Chief Financial Strategist: COE.

In this role, you'll oversee financial activities, manage daily operations, and provide strategic insights to drive business decisions.

Responsibilities
  • Financial Analysis and Reporting: Provide meaningful recommendations, explanations, and highlights of concerns or anomalies by analyzing and interrogating financial information.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Ensure accurate and timeous budgets are submitted and reviewed by ensuring that they align with key economic indicators and group strategic initiatives.
  • Financial Statement Preparation: Compile Financial statements by complying with IFRS and relevant regulatory frameworks.
  • Rewards Liability Management: Oversee the accurate accounting and reporting of rewards liabilities, including breakage assumptions, provisions, and financial entries.
  • Performance Analysis: Analyze the financial performance of the rewards program, providing insights and recommendations on cost efficiency, redemption trends, and revenue optimization to senior leadership.
  • Value-Added Services: Manage the financial planning, performance analysis, and reporting for all Value-Added Services (VAS), ensuring revenue growth and profitability from services like electricity, airtime, and other offerings.
Requirements
  • 5 years in financial management preferably in the financial services industry and 2 years managing others
  • Strong understanding of non-interest revenue and its importance in a banking context
  • Ability to provide insights into NIR to support strategic decisions such as pricing and identifying revenue leakage
  • Experience working with data specialists or business intelligence teams
  • Ability to specify rules for data analysis and reconcile data insights with financial ledgers to ensure accuracy and integrity
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including those with technical expertise in data
  • Strong communication skills to convey complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders
Compensation

The estimated salary for this position is around R1,200,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
