The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting engineers in various technical tasks, from design and development to maintenance and troubleshooting.

  • Target new sales opportunities for engineering sales and report on progress within required time frames.
  • Assist sales team and management with quotations, installations, and general enquiries.
  • Survey new/existing sites and prepare proposals/quotations.
  • Follow up on proposals to ensure conversion to sales.

The ideal candidate must have a blend of technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and strong communication skills.

He/she must also have a B.Tech in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related trade qualification, and minimum of 5 years' experience working in the water treatment industry/mining.

  • Presentable with good communication skills.

The successful candidate will be part of our Engineering team reporting to the Head of Sales.

Key Responsibilities

  • Target new sales opportunities for engineering sales and report on progress within required time frames.
  • Assist sales team and management with quotations, installations, and general enquiries.
  • Survey new/existing sites and prepare proposals/quotations.
  • Follow up on proposals to ensure conversion to sales.
  • Service engineering requirements of water management clients as required in a professional manner.
  • Foster strong relationships with key personnel on various sites.
  • Deal with Engineering Service Providers and Product Suppliers to timeously get quotes on equipment when required and forward these to Sales Representatives.
  • Quality control all incoming engineering-related equipment to ensure delivered equipment meets customer specifications before dispatch to customer.
  • Follow up in conjunction with Debtors Department the payment of services/equipment rendered within the specified payment term.
  • Manage interface with external engineering service providers on site when these are used to ensure agreed-upon scope of work is met.
  • Function as the custodian of the Engineering Requisition system to ensure all work is pre-approved and planned in the most efficient manner.
  • Manage the inventory and housekeeping in the engineering Store.
  • Ensure all sites comply with Health, Safety, and Quality requirements of the Company.
