Senior Draughtsman

RAKKGALAKANE RECRUITMENT seeks a highly skilled Senior Draughtsman to join our team in Richards Bay. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering and technical drawing.

• Minimum Diploma / B Tech / Degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Proven experience in technical drawing and design, with a focus on CAD software.
• Excellent communication and project management skills.
• Conversant with OHS Act and Building Regulation Act.
• At least 5 years' experience as a general engineering draughtsman in a heavy industry.
• Heavy Mechanical Engineering trade experience will be an added advantage.
• Must be conversant with drawings associated with sugar mill roll settings.
• Must be able to manage small projects.
• General engineering knowledge.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Compile drawings and ensure the effective operation of the Drawing Office.
• Communicate requirements of engineering drawings with management and present drawing proposals for approval.
• Acquires technical data from engineering supply agencies as part of data collection.
• Prepares and control drawing office budget.
