Job Overview

This position is focused on supporting Agriculture Specialists and Soil Scientists by collecting various agri-samples according to standardised SOPs. The successful candidate will play a vital role in sending samples and related paperwork to the relevant lab for analysis.

Key Responsibilities

• Collecting soil, water, leaf, petiole, and other samples from various farms according to relevant SOPs.
• Capturing location data using Trimble or MYFARMWEB CAPTURE systems.
• Completing relevant online job cards for each sample collected, accurately capturing data on the designated form.
• Ensuring samples are sent to the correct laboratories for analysis.
• Maintaining weekly machine checklists to guarantee equipment functionality.
• Performing ad hoc tasks as assigned by management.

Requirements

• National Senior Certificate.
• Full professional proficiency in Afrikaans and English (speaking and writing).
• Able to lift and carry items weighing more than 12 pounds comfortably.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Flexibility in adjusting to routine work and ad hoc situations.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Effective organisational skills and prioritising tasks efficiently.
• Will to work both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

Additional Requirements

• Ownership of a suitable pickup truck (bakkie).
• Availability to work every second Saturday, as required.
• Readiness to travel extensively, both locally and internationally.
• Ability to work long hours when necessary.

Preference will be given to candidates residing in the Bloemfontein area, as no relocation assistance will be provided.
