We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Lines Underwriter to join our team at Sanlam Limited. The successful candidate will be responsible for examining insurance proposals, gathering and assessing background information, and providing views and analysis on the risk/account.
- Evaluate complex risk using critical thinking and analysis.
- Conduct necessary research to assess the risk and determine appropriate insurance premiums.
- Quote within designated authority levels and refer accounts where necessary.
- Maintain accurate records and produce management reports.
- Participate in projects to improve department efficiency.
- Tertiary qualification (LLB, B.Comm in Insurance, Finance, Accounting or Economics).
- NQF 7 insurance or risk management qualification.
- Minimum of 3 years technical underwriting experience.
- FAIS Compliance.
- Competent user of Excel, Word, Outlook, and other Microsoft platforms.
