Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Expertise: Ensure that production equipment is in good operating condition and well-maintained. Identify technical areas of concern and rectify them promptly.
  • Process Optimization: Optimize the production process by setting up the machine for optimal performance and cycle time. Ensure that the process integrity is optimal for each run.
  • Maintenance Plans: Develop and implement maintenance plans to ensure that equipment is properly maintained.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that all products meet quality standards by conducting regular quality checks.

Requirements:

  • Secondary Education: Grade 12
  • Tertiary Education: N2 in Tool, Jig & Die trade theory and trade tested (red seal), preferable
  • Experience: 5 years relevant setting experience

Competencies:

  • Knowledge: Sound understanding of drawings, fundamentals of fault finding and equipment testing, and knowledge of H&S and safe working procedures.
  • Skills: Installation of parts & related equipment, fault finding and problem solving, good communication skills, ability to act decisively and urgently, and high level of emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills.
