Children's Ministry Director

Job Summary:
The Director of Children and Family Ministry is responsible for creating a nurturing environment for children and families at the Presbyterian Church of Western Springs. This role involves developing and implementing programs for faith formation, Sunday School, and family activities that promote spiritual growth and community building.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and lead Sunday School programs for PreK-5th grade children, including curriculum planning and volunteer coordination
- Oversee the nursery and Grace Space, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for children and families
- Plan and coordinate family activities, social events, and special events, such as Christmas Pageant and Vacation Bible School
- Collaborate with the pastor and Faith Formation Committee to develop and implement faith formation programs
- Communicate with parents and families through regular updates and newsletters
- Monitor and maintain supplies and equipment for children's programs
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Experience working with children 3-12 years of age
- CPR and First Aid certification (certified or willing to obtain)
- Safe Space training will be required and provided
- Protestant background and a passion for education
