Job Summary:
Watershed Consulting is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for servicing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles, LDVs, and trucks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive and review workshop job cards to ensure accuracy and understanding of the work required.
- Attend to office hour and after-hour breakdowns, ensuring prompt and efficient resolution.
- Sign off job cards and ensure all parts and oils used are booked to the job card.
- Perform maintenance services in accordance with manufacturer specifications and the maintenance schedule/maintenance computer.
- Conduct visual inspections, calibration work, and adjustments as required.
- Identify deviations, irregularities, and unusual wear and tear, and provide feedback to the Workshop Foreman.
- Inspect and replace disassembled and dismantled parts with new or reconditioned parts.
- Return old or unusable parts and document the work carried out.
- Compare the current state of the vehicle with common production configurations and evaluate its technical condition.
- Perform final checks to ensure the vehicle is roadworthy and functionally reliable.
- Adhere to company dress code and maintain housekeeping standards daily.
- Ensure standards of Health and Safety are maintained at all times.
Requirements:
- Grade 12 qualification.
- Trade-tested Automotive Diesel Mechanic certification.
- Valid Code C (10) or EC (14) driver's license.
- Minimum of 3 years post-trade test experience.
Remuneration:
R25,000 negotiable.
