Key Responsibilities

  • Preconstruction Engineer: Develop accurate technical solutions to meet client needs during the promotional phase of the sale.
  • Verify the structural integrity of projects being bid against bid documents.
  • Collaborate with the estimating group on method statements and structural implications of installation schemes.
  • Select suitable systems for structure and cladding from Company standards based on price and performance needs.
  • Develop structural models using available software and applicable building codes.
  • Receive new projects from sales during TM1 meetings and ask relevant questions.
  • Analyze all contract documents and building codes to ensure proper load requirements.
  • Pose RFIs as needed to obtain necessary information not already shown in the Contract Documents.
  • Design structural schemes and cladding details according to contractual obligations, architectural intent, budget, and time schedules.
  • Plan and oversee shop and fabrication drawings.
  • Perform necessary structural calculations to justify member sizes and connection details.
