Job Title: Pharmaceutical Buyer and Supply Chain Specialist

Location: Aeroton, Johannesburg South

Salary: R 600 000.00 per month

Job Overview:

The successful candidate will be responsible for ordering material and finished goods to meet production and sales requirements within the pharmaceutical or related sectors such as FMCG.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for sourcing and procuring high-quality materials and finished goods at competitive pricing.
  • Review material requirement reports weekly and replenish orders as required to ensure timely delivery.
  • Manage stock levels to prevent overstocking and understocking, taking into consideration long lead times and safety stock levels.
  • Ensure compliance with company policy by obtaining order confirmations and invoices in a timely manner.
  • Expedite and follow up on deliveries daily to ensure prompt receipt of goods.
  • Generate weekly reports to monitor low stocks and backorders, highlighting actions to be taken to rectify stock levels.
  • Work closely with planners to re-schedule orders as necessary to optimize supply chain efficiency.
  • Source vendors and review their performance to ensure optimal supply chain outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 qualification.
  • Purchasing or buyer diploma or higher.
  • At least 3 years of experience as a buyer in a FMCG or pharmaceutical company.
  • Experience or knowledge of Forex and shipping is essential.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Oracle skills are advantageous.
