Job Title: Senior Specialist: Early Stage Advisory Services

Job Summary:

TalentCru is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Specialist to join our team in the Early Stage Advisory Services department. As a Senior Specialist, you will be responsible for providing advisory services to clients who are experiencing early warning signs of distress, with the goal of limiting the increase in further distress and implementing interventions to restrict the number of clients that progress into turnaround and business rescue.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide Advisory Services: Offer expert advice to clients on how to manage and mitigate early warning signs of distress, including providing guidance on business strategy, operations, finance, and human capital.
  • Conduct Business Diagnosis: Conduct in-depth analysis of clients' businesses to identify areas of distress and improvement, and develop recommendations for improvement.
  • Develop Value Creation Plans: Work with clients to develop Value Creation Plans (VCPs) that outline specific interventions and strategies to improve business performance.
  • Implement Interventions: Collaborate with clients to implement the VCP, including providing training, support, mentorship, and coaching.
  • Monitor Progress: Regularly monitor the implementation of the VCP and provide feedback to clients on their progress.
  • Provide Domain Knowledge: Share expertise and knowledge with clients on various business topics, including markets, value chain insights, manufacturing, and technologies.
  • Stakeholder Management: Engage with stakeholders to ensure alignment of roles and responsibilities and build a repository of core knowledge and insights within the supporting the delivery of the value creation plan for clients.
  • Security Position: Safeguard the client's security position by maintaining and/or improving the recoverability of exposure.
  • Coach and Mentor: Coach and mentor clients to build organization capabilities, including functional management skills, financial know-how, agile ways of working, strategic planning, marketing, and corporate governance.
  • Reporting: Draft and present submission reports to various decision-making committees responsible for portfolio monitoring and credit approval.
  • Communication: Regularly update the pipeline and status report, and SAP to indicate and track progress in respect of transactions under your portfolio of clients.
  • Team Collaboration: Attend and contribute to the weekly Capability Advisory Services and periodic Business Advisory and Turnaround Services meetings.
  • Client Service: Provide efficient service to both internal and external stakeholders/clients.

Requirements:

  • Education: BCom with post-graduate degree
  • Experience: At least 8-10 years experience in a management consulting environment, consulting to small, medium, and large (blue chip) businesses experiencing growth prospects and/or early on-set stress.
  • Skills: Seasoned well-rounded management consultant with deep diagnostic, solutions-design, and implementing skills, preferably from 1st or 2nd tier consulting firms.
  • Knowledge: Good understanding of different types of security, business and the diversity of risks that may affect businesses, Company, Contract, Taxation, IFRS and Insolvency legislation, industry standards, technology trends, and best practices.
