Job Overview


We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced UAV GCS Instructor and Technician to join our team in the aviation industry in South Africa. This role involves delivering training on UAV Ground Control Stations and providing technical support for GCS maintenance and operations.


 


Responsibilities


As a UAV GCS Instructor and Technician, your key responsibilities will include:


• Developing and delivering training programs on UAV Ground Control Stations, covering operational procedures, software interfaces, telemetry systems, and communication protocols.


• Conducting hands-on training sessions to teach personnel about GCS setup, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance.


• Creating and refining instructional materials, including manuals, presentations, and simulations, to facilitate effective learning.


• Performing diagnostics, maintenance, and repair on UAV GCS hardware and software components.


• Ensuring that GCS systems are fully operational and meet performance standards and regulatory requirements.


• Collaborating with engineering teams to resolve technical issues and enhance GCS functionality.


 


Requirements


To be considered for this position, you will need to have:


• A diploma in aviation, engineering, education, or a related field.


• 5-10 years of experience in UAV operations with specific expertise in Ground Control Stations.


• In-depth understanding of UAV GCS hardware, software, telemetry systems, and communication protocols.


• Previous experience in instructional roles or technical training is preferred.


• Certification in UAV operations and maintenance is advantageous.


• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and proficiency with simulation software and other training aids.


• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.


• Willingness to travel occasionally and flexibility to adapt to evolving technology and training methods.


• Familiarity with South African aviation regulations and compliance standards.
