About the Role

Key Responsibilities

As a Contract Engineer, you'll be responsible for:
  1. Technical Expertise: Providing expert technical input on feasibility studies, design, supervision, and implementation of civil engineering projects.
  2. Project Implementation: Overseeing the development and execution of infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with technical, financial, and safety requirements.
  3. Design & Site Supervision: Leading the design and site supervision of infrastructure-related facilities, including roads, stormwater, and sewer reticulation.
  4. Contract & Construction Management: Managing construction works, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  5. Cost Management: Controlling project costs and ensuring optimal allocation of resources.
  6. Client Engagement: Interfacing with clients, ensuring smooth project communication and successful delivery.
  7. Compliance & Safety: Maintaining strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations throughout project execution.
  8. Report Writing & Documentation: Preparing and presenting technical reports, ensuring high standards of quality and accuracy.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess:
  • A Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng), Bachelor of Science in Engineering (B.Sc Eng), or Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) degree.
  • Honours degree in relevant engineering disciplines will be advantageous.
  • Professional Registration with ECSA (Pr Eng / Pr Tech) or an equivalent body recognized by ECSA (Washington Accord, Dublin Accord, Sydney Accord).
  • Registered with Environmental Assessment Practitioners of South Africa (EAPASA) or equivalent.
