Job Title: Biodiversity Law Centre Attorney Vacancy

The Biodiversity Law Centre is seeking an attorney to join its team in Cape Town. The successful candidate will have a strong background in environmental law and a passion for protecting and restoring biodiversity in Southern Africa.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing legal advice to communities and NGOs in the biodiversity sector
  • Undertaking litigation to protect and restore biodiversity
  • Building the profile of the Centre through communications and networking
  • Providing expert input into environmental policies and legislation
  • Assisting the Executive Director with events, fundraising, and website management
Requirements:
  • LLB or equivalent qualification
  • Admission as attorney of the High Court of South Africa
  • At least 3 years' post-qualification experience in High Court litigation
  • Experience in environmental law and conservation
  • Excellent writing and networking skills
Salary:

The salary range for the position is between R and R (total cost to company). The salary offered will be dependent on factors that include the qualifications, level of expertise, and experience of the successful candidate.
