About the Role:

The Legends Agency is seeking a skilled Plastic Injection Moulding Technician to perform various tasks related to toolmaking, mechanical maintenance and mould changes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Toolmaking & Repairs: Manufacture, assemble, modify and repair plastic injection moulding tools with precision and functionality.
  • Mechanical Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on tooling and production equipment to minimize downtime and optimize efficiency.
  • Mould Changes & Setups: Assist in hanging, setting up and aligning moulds in injection moulding machines for smooth operation.
  • Quality Assurance: Inspect tools and components for defects and compliance with specifications to ensure high-quality products.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues related to moulds, tools and mechanical failures to maintain productivity.
  • CNC & Manual Machining: Operate milling machines, lathes, grinders and CNC equipment as required for various tasks.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain records of tool maintenance, repairs and modifications for reference and analysis.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations in the workshop and production areas to safeguard employees and assets.

Requirements:

  • Qualification: Trade Tested Toolmaker (Essential).
  • Experience: 1-3 years of post-Trade Test experience in a toolroom environment.
  • Industry Knowledge: Previous experience in a Plastic Injection Moulding environment is advantageous.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong machining and hand-finishing skills.
    • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
    • Understanding of precision measurements and tolerances.
    • Familiarity with CNC machining and conventional machines.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move heavy moulds and components safely.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong problem-solving skills.
    • Attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Good communication and teamwork abilities.
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
