About the Role:

This role involves monitoring the construction process to ensure that it is carried out according to the project specifications and contract requirements. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to work effectively with contractors, engineers, and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring that construction works are carried out in accordance with project specifications and FIDIC;
  • Auditing contractor's compliance to contract participation goals;
  • Auditing site safety measures: supervisory staff and contractor;
  • Attending site and technical meetings and preparing minutes;
  • Maintaining daily site diary;
  • Monitoring and assessing survey data;
  • Monitoring and assessing all test results and attending to other quality control matters;
  • Measuring quantities and verifying contractor's monthly payment certificates;
  • Reviewing, assessing, recording and monitoring traffic accommodation measures and incidents;
  • Preparing budgets and cash flows;
  • Preparing works authorizations;
  • Programme and expenditure control;
  • Attending and minuting work schedule meetings with contractor;
  • Preparing of site instructions and site memorandums;
  • Assisting with preparation and compilation of contract report;
  • Attending meetings with community structures such as public liaison committees;
  • Any other reasonable request.

Requirements:

  • Degree in civil engineering or related field;
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience after qualification;
  • Candidate engineer, candidate technologist or candidate technician registration with engineering council of SA (ECSA);
  • Experience with COTO (COLTO) will be advantageous.
