About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS ENGINEER to join our team as a Senior Electrical Engineer - Heavy Industry.

In this position, you will be responsible for the electrical system modelling, protection design, protection testing, protection and system commissioning, bill of quantities and Auto CAD drawings for all projects you are involved in.

  • You will also be responsible to compile Site Acceptance Test plans, commissioning plans and assist the technical teams with the execution thereof.
  • You will contribute to the development of the company's strategic planning and the development of our customer base and project services.
  • You will be responsible for budgeting, resource management, planning, scope definition, implementation and general coordination of all projects you are involved in.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Engineering, planning, leading, organising and controlling electrical system modelling, load flows, fault studies, grading studies and designs for all projects you are involved in.
  • Standardization and ensuring good engineering practices are applied to all electrical studies.
  • Designs, specifications, project, supervision and management of small to medium projects.
  • Responsible for the whole project life cycle e.g. Design according to work scope, specification of equipment to be used, procurement of material, budgeting, supervision during manufacturing process, testing and commissioning of completed product, equipment test reports and documentation, handover and demonstration to client during FAT, SAT and commissioning where and when required.
  • Specify, design, programming, commissioning of electrical equipment including metering equipment, protection equipment, electrical reticulation equipment.
  • Develop bill of materials/quantities for engineering services, engineering work and projects, and support the tendering process of other departments with respect to engineering work.
  • Coordinate individual project resources plans and support the endeavours of the engineering and installation services teams in this regard.
  • Technical problem solving, fault finding, periodic standby duties.
