Salary and Benefits: This is a competitive salary position with an estimated market-related salary ranging from R400,000 to R600,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to the base salary, you will receive 21 days of annual leave, Provident Fund contributions of up to 10% (5% from the employee and employer), and a 20% staff discount on all services, medicine, and store products.
Working Hours: As a day veterinarian, you will work a standard Monday-to-Friday schedule from 07h00 to 15:30 or a split shift of 07h00 to 13h00 and 15h30 to 18h30. You will also be required to work one weekend in every three, followed by an off-day. Public holidays will be divided evenly among the veterinarians.
Night Veterinarian Schedule: For those interested in working night shifts, we offer a 5-on-5-off rotation with three other night veterinarians. This means you will work one set of five nights (18h00 to 07h00) followed by five days off, then five days of regular hours (07h00 to 12h00 & 15h30 to 18h30 for weekdays, and 12h00 to 20h00 for weekends), and finally another five days off. This cycle repeats every four rotations.
Requirements and Qualifications: To be successful in this role, you will need to have a veterinary degree and a valid practicing certificate. Experience in animal care and handling is essential, as is excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and be comfortable with rotating shifts.
