Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to design and build the data architecture of our products. The Data Engineer will use technical knowledge to help develop new products by taking an idea from concept to reality. The role involves working on projects across multiple teams to achieve company goals and objectives. The Data Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Analyzing business requirements;
  • Designing databases, reports, and tools for analytical needs;
  • Building reports with analysis results;

Key Responsibilities

The Data Engineer will be responsible for the following key responsibilities:

  1. Modifying the database structure, as necessary, from information given by application developers;
  2. Enrolling users and maintaining system security;
  3. Controlling and monitoring user access to the database;
  4. Monitoring and optimizing the database performance;
  5. Maintaining archived data;
  6. Contacting database vendor for technical support;
  7. Performing database monitoring, tuning, and capacity planning;
  8. Optimizing database access and allocating/re-allocating database resources for optimum configuration, database performance, and cost;
  9. Managing schema changes and implementations;
  10. Implementing advanced database security features;
  11. Auditing user activity to ensure integrity and performance of all the database;
  12. Establishing standards, policies, and procedures for data management;
  13. Defining and implementing alerts on data;
  14. Developing reports and ETL packages in line with Business Intelligence best practices and procedures;
  15. Data warehousing;

Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

  • Tertiary qualification in Computer Science and/or Software Engineering and/or Information Systems and/or Information technology/or related technical certification in an IT field and/or International Data engineering Qualification;
  • Minimum of 5 years experience as Data Engineer working with PowerBI, MS SQL, SSIS, and Azure ADF;
  • Good written and verbal communication skills;
