Job Description

As a Senior Financial Manager at Energiequelle GmbH, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the commercial viability of our project pipeline. Your extensive experience in Renewable Energy and strong network in the South African finance sector will be instrumental in securing funding models, advising the company on strategic decisions, and leading engagements with investors and lenders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain a network of investors, partners, and lenders for Renewable Energy projects.
  • Develop project finance concepts and models for the C&I market.
  • Conduct feasibility analyses of Renewable Energy projects throughout their life cycle.
  • Support the development of bankable financial models.
  • Manage external stakeholders during the development process.
  • Prepare offers and present projects to investors, banks, offtakers, and other relevant parties.
  • Oversee the sales and procurement process, including relevant contracts.
Business Development and Offtake
  • Compile relevant NPV savings models in cooperation with the BD/Offtake Manager.
  • Analyze power purchase agreements (PPAs) and evaluate their financial impact, risks, and opportunities.
  • Develop financial models to optimize PPA terms, pricing structures, and contract terms to improve project valuations.
  • Support the negotiation of bankable PPA and loan agreements.
General Responsibilities
  • Perform general commercial tasks and manage service providers, including accounting, legal, and banking services.
  • Provide guidance and financial advice to the company.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A relevant degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., MBA, CA(SA)) preferred.
  • Sound knowledge and experience in project financing with a focus on renewable energies.
  • Proficiency in contracting PPAs and associated financial models.
  • Strong negotiating skills and persuasiveness.
  • A structured way of working and goal orientation.
  • Business fluency in English.
