PRIMARY JOB OBJECTIVE
To enhance the variety of sports available at the organization. Promote active participation among members by facilitating
communication regarding sporting events and liaising with various sports organizations for the leagues and teams available. Aim to elevate sports awareness within the organization by developing programs tailored to member interests.


KEY DUTIES

• Increase member participation and utilization of the organization through sports initiatives.

• Support the management of the Sports Division.

• Ensure that all individuals have the necessary tools and resources for their roles.

• Review all communications prior to dissemination through various channels.

• Represent and participate in selected sports committees and discussion forums.

• Organize and oversee various events for different sports, including the planning and execution of sporting clinics, which encompasses marketing, booking systems, catering, and member billing.

• Prepare monthly evaluations and reports on sub-clubs.

• Communicate with various sports organizations and governing bodies.

• Assist with the monthly inventory count and management of sports merchandise.

• Support junior sports initiatives.

• Engage in sporting events for members when appropriate.

• Participate in club rides to ensure safe routes and member safety.

• Ensure members complete indemnity forms.

• Interact with members to gather feedback for improvement and increased participation.

• Keep participants motivated and engaged.

• Conduct coaching sessions.

• Facilitate sports classes in the absence of a trainer.

• Communicate with all members through email and messaging platforms.

• Provide content from events for newsletters and social media updates.

• Foster the growth of the Sports Section.

• Maintain databases of members' sporting interests and communicate upcoming events.

• Offer a diverse range of sporting events throughout the year.

• Explore and expand into new sporting disciplines not currently available.

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES & SKILLS

• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).

• Strong social and interpersonal abilities.

• Proficient in computer applications (MS Office – Intermediate/Advanced user).

• Familiarity with Jonas Software (advantageous).

• Proficient in social media platforms including Facebook, Google, Twitter, and Instagram.

• Creative and innovative thinker.


MINIMUM / PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE

• 2 – 3 years of experience in a similar capacity or within a sports environment.

• Physically fit and active individual.

• Capable of assembling equipment.

• Up-to-date knowledge in the field of sports.

• Available to participate in sports activities.


QUALIFICATION

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Preferred tertiary qualification in Sports Marketing or Sports Management.

• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
