Job Title: Senior Electrical Engineer

Hire Resolve's client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join their team in Cape Town.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop renewable energy systems that meet relevant regulations and standards.
  • Conduct site inspections to accurately design and cost new projects.
  • Prepare detailed budgets for proposed new projects.
  • Create detailed drawings for information and construction purposes.
  • Perform all necessary calculations and documentation required for utility approval.
  • Develop as-built drawings.
  • Measure and create bills of quantities for installations.
  • Accurately simulate system performances and/or productions.
  • Participate in commissioning teams on site during project commissioning.
  • Assist with engineering-related operations and maintenance issues.
  • Contribute to the development of design tools for the engineering department.
  • Support project-specific Project Managers with engineering-related project issues.
  • Lead a design team of Project Engineers, Interns, and Draughtsmen to complete designs.
  • Review designs from Project Engineers and Interns.
  • Professionally approve designs for compliance to regulations and standards.

Requirements:

  • A minimum qualification of PR Eng in Electrical Engineering.
  • Registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa as a Professional Engineer or Professional Engineering Technologist.
  • Excellent computer literacy and knowledge of design and visualization software.
  • Ability to work with multiple disciplines of projects.
  • Ability to work across multiple projects in parallel.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, leadership, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Knowledge of applicable codes, policies, standards, and best practices.
  • Ability to work within budgets and to deadlines.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Creative approach to engineering challenges.
