About the Role

Santam is seeking a highly skilled Senior Pricing Actuary to join our team in Tygerpark, Bellville. As a key member of our Underwriting team, you will play a critical role in the management of reinsurance pricing activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain reinsurance pricing tools to ensure accurate and efficient pricing analysis.
  • Collaborate with the underwriting team to review pricing assumptions and output.
  • Work with the reserving team to determine profitability by business segment on a quarterly basis.
  • Conduct market visits to gather insights on underwriting and pricing trends.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards for underwriters and client relationship managers.
Requirements
  • Qualified Actuary or close to qualification.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in reinsurance pricing, preferably 5 years.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in mathematical/statistical techniques and software tools.
  • Knowledge of actuarial principles, insurance/reinsurance concepts, and risk management frameworks.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to build and maintain good internal and external relationships.
